About This Role
Network Technician provides dedicated technical resources to R.K. Black clients, delivering exceptional field service for networking installations, configurations, and troubleshooting. You’ll improve the overall service experience, maintain strong client relationships through professional conduct and clear communication, and stay current with evolving technology. This role requires strong self-reliance, technical expertise, and a commitment to representing R.K. Black with integrity in every client interaction – because consistent, professional service builds trust and keeps us ahead in a competitive market.
What You’ll Do
Field Service & Client Operations
- Arrive at first call by 8am each day, ready to work until 5pm
- Conduct site surveys to gather networking information, electrical requirements, equipment staging, and facility layout before installations
- Communicate with clients throughout projects – confirming tasks, explaining work performed, and ensuring satisfaction
- Deliver exceptional client experiences through professional appearance, friendly demeanor, and thorough service
- Represent R.K. Black with the utmost integrity in every client interaction
Networking Installation & Implementation
- Implement printing, scanning, and fax solutions on client networks
- Perform print/scan device network installations and configurations to R.K. Black standards and client specifications
Network Troubleshooting & Support
- Rapidly troubleshoot network issues independently on client networks
- Resolve networking problems quickly and completely, ensuring client satisfaction
- Document work clearly in ticketing system so future installs and Help Desk support can reference settings
- Communicate networking needs and issues in clear language that clients understand
Professional Development & Vehicle Responsibility
- Acquire training certifications through self-paced, web-based, or remote training methods
- Maintain CompTIA Network+ certification and pursue additional industry certifications as assigned
- Stay current with evolving networking technologies and best practices
- Maintain company vehicle in excellent condition – clean, well-maintained, and properly serviced
- Drive safely and courteously at all times, obeying traffic laws
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications
- Education: Two-year electronics degree or equivalent military or industry experience preferred
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows 10, Windows 11, and Apple macOS operating systems
- Network Knowledge: Strong knowledge of network fundamentals, connectivity, and troubleshooting
- Tools & Equipment: Proficiency with hand tools and network testing equipment
- Certifications: CompTIA Network+ certification required (within 6 months of hire if not current)
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication in English
- Driver’s License: Valid state driver’s license with clear driving record

Physical Requirements
- Able to stand, bend over, squat or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Able to use hands to handle and feel for objects and controls
- Able to carry computer equipment and other accessories up and down stairs
Wage: Commensurate with experience
