R.K. Black Shredding to partner with Hearts for Hearing for shred day fundraiser

The tax filing deadline is just around the corner. If you're like a lot of people, that means you've got a lot of paperwork, old files and receipts to get rid of. If you're wondering what to do with all of those papers, we've got a solution for you.

Shred some files. Make some smiles.

Next month R.K. Black Shredding is partnering with Hearts for Hearing to raise funds to help Oklahoma children who are deaf and harding of hearing — all while giving you and others like you a way to simply and securely dispose of your sensitive documents.

The Details: When, where, why ...

The shred event is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, July 11 in the parking lot of Hearts for Hearing at 11500 N Portland Ave. One of our shredding specialists will be on hand to collect your documents to be disgarded and will operate the mobile shred unit so you can witness your documents shredded before your eyes.

Not only will you have peace of mind knowing nobody will ever be able to read those papers again, you'll feel good because your contribution will go toward a good cause — helping Oklahoma kids hear.

While we will shred for free, as this is a fundraiser to benefit Hearts for Hearing, we are suggesting a donation of $20 per every four banker boxes (or equivalent) of documents.

All funds generated from the shredding event will benefit babies and children with hearing loss served at Hearts for Hearing. As Hearts for Hearing is a 501(c)3 all contributions will be deductible for federal income tax purposes.

Hearts for Hearing provides the first set of hearing aids to babies and children with hearing loss ages 10 and under at no cost to families across Oklahoma. Hearts for Hearing also provides funding for audiology and specialized speech therapy services that together teach a child who is deaf or hard of hearing to learn to listen and talk like his or her normal hearing peers.
