Homecoming 2011 marked printCentral’s first time participating in the University of Central Oklahoma’s Homecoming activities. PrintCentral was received with open arms and was given some wonderful opportunities and experience by the University that has enabled us to show a true partnership with the UCO.

Monday September 26th, 2011 began the week with the Homecoming Office Decorating Competition, Mary Hatch, John Paul Gandy, Dave Polhemus, and Kera Don Skidmore assisted the Homecoming Activities Board in judging the decorations. First place went to the Chamber’s Library, second place to IT, and third place was given to the Purchasing Department. PrintCentral was given the opportunity to sponsor the awards for the winners of the contest, and the plaques hanging in each department share the printCentral logo on each of them, thank you Courtney James for giving us this opportunity.

Thursday October 29th, 2011, printCentral had the unexpected opportunity to assist in serving beverages, for UCO’s Lunch on the Lake, while handing out mini bottles of water with the printCentral logo on them. This event was open to the Edmond Community and the UCO campus, and there were approximately 250 people in attendance.

Saturday, October 1st, 2011, concluded UCO’s Homecoming week and printCentral was proud to be involved in the day’s activities. Saturday morning, Troy & Seth Gentry proudly drove the printCentral ZENN car through Downtown Edmond; they waved and smiled at all the bronze and blue fans and represented printCentral well. The printCentral parade script had rave reviews and was read by emcees as the Gentry’s drove down Main Street, printCentral is delighted at the opportunity to support the University in its go green initiative and our script read the following to share this idea with all of the parade’s attendees. “PrintCentral powered by R.K. Black, Inc.  Is located on the 1st floor of the Nigh University Center and is a proud partner of the University of Central Oklahoma Broncho’s. The printCentral ZENN car is a Zero Emission No Noise electric car, and is devoted to supporting the Bronze and Blue = Green initiative while delivering all your print needs on campus. Live Central, printCentral!”

To conclude the day, immediately following the parade, printCentral tables were set up for our booth at the tailgating party. The university counted over 5500 attendees, which allows printCentral to be successful at displaying our partnership with the University. Attendees that stopped by the booth were able to take a picture with our ZENN, color pictures of Buddy the Broncho and a UCO football player, and show their Broncho spirit by wearing Buddy stickers, and waving fan paddles at the game against ECU! The Broncho’s took a victory over ECU and so did printCentral, thank you to everyone who helped make Homecoming a success, we are looking forward to 2012!

August 2011 - RK Black is proud to announce we will be sponsoring the Abe Lemons Golf Classic! The event will be hosted by Oklahoma City University and is being held Friday, September 9th at Lincoln Park Golf Course. March 2010 - RK BLACK goes ELECTRIC GREEN! We are proud to announce our very first 'totally electric' ZENN (Zero Emission No Noise) Delivery Vehicle.  Pictured left to right are Bryan Williams, Territory Sales Manager for Lexmark, wheelman Gary Hackett, Managed Print Services Manager for RK Black, and Neal Durnil, Senior Manager for Business Development at Lexmark.  This little beauty goes zero to 37 in 13.7 seconds (peppy but no rocket) and gets the equivalent of a whopping 245 miles per gallon!  A 10 minute charge is good for about 30 miles.  The 'Lexmobile' will be used for in-town deliveries and all-around fun.
